Join us for Sunday Small Groups each Sunday morning at 9:30am & Worship at 10:45am

The purpose of Northwest’s missions ministry is to reach across cultural barriers to make disciples of all nations for Jesus Christ. We are on mission locally, nationally and globally in four integrated ways. See the four mission points below to discover how you can engage in making Christ known in all the earth. If you need more information please email our missions office.

1. Praying

Praying is not just part of the work of missions – it is the work! Please e-mail the missions office to receive the weekly Northwest prayer e-letter, Frontline. This letter will help inform you on how to pray specifically for Northwest missions.

You may also visit these sites for other ways to engage in prayer for God’s work in the world and North America: and

2. Mobilizing

Global Impact Celebration

During the last weekend in January of each year, our whole church focuses on what God is doing in our city, nation and world. Global Impact’s purpose is to inform, inspire and involve believers in joining God in His work. Interactive events available for the whole family include a Saturday Global Gathering, A Sunday Global Expo missions event, meals, seminars and inspiring worship.

Perspectives on the World Christian Movement

This 15-week course developed by the U.S. Center for World Missions has helped believers worldwide discover and participate in what God is doing in the world. You will look at the world differently after examining  biblical, historical, cultural and strategic perspectives of God’s kingdom work. Northwest has hosted this interdenominational course and encourages Christians to enroll. Visit the Perspectives site to discover more and enroll.

3. Going

We send mission team across the street and across the globe. Here are some ways to connect:

International Friendship Partner Ministry

American families, singles, and college students connect with an international student once a month during the academic year. Relationships are built by including the student in normal activities such as meals, holidays, hobbies, school activities, etc. This hospitality ministry is a rich cultural exchange for everyone involved.

Many international students are coming to Oklahoma City University for English Language School. Many need housing during their time here.  It is a great opportunity to learn about another culture, and share the love of Christ with people in your own home. Homestays are compensated to help offset the cost of having a student in their home. For more info, call the church office or e-mail

Northwest Network Congregations

Do you sense God’s calling to serve among a particular cultural group? Check out the Northwest Network - there are plenty of ways to share the love and good news of Christ with the people of these congregations through ministries like helping with conversational English, tutoring, transportation, childcare, learning their language and more. Each Sunday morning we have worship services on campus in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Zomi (Burmese)Korean and Vietnamese sister churches meet off campus.

Mission Trips

Each year we send scores of adult and student volunteers on short term mission teams to serve and reach people in our state, North America, and other countries. E-mail the missions office for a current list of projects.

Adopted City

Our current international mission focus is a city on the other side of the globe. Our vision is to engage the people of this city with the gospel to make reproducing disciples who gather in multiplying churches. Opportunities for short term and long term service exist in this city. The harvest is ready - Contact Us to learn how to be a worker in this field.

4. Giving

Cooperative Program

Northwest is a Southern Baptist Church and is fully committed to the SBC Cooperative Program, a proven strategy to leverage resources for missions, education and ministries among Southern Baptist Churches. A portion of every dollar given to the general fund of Northwest is invested in the Cooperative Program. Visit the Cooperative Program online for how your giving works for the kingdom.

World Mission Fund

100% of the offerings given to this fund are invested in reaching people for Christ from our neighborhood to the nations. We encourage members to give to this fund regularly beyond their tithe to the general ministry budget of Northwest. This fund is distributed to the following ministries and more:

  • Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions
  • Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions
  • Edna McMillan Offering for State Missions
  • Mission Projects
  • Church Planting
  • Mission Training
